CMS Business School Faculty Visits TAPMI for Faculty Development Program

Eight marketing faculty from CMS Business School were nominated to attend a two-day Faculty Development Program on ‘Experiential Learning Methods in Marketing’ organized by TAPMI, Manipal.

TAPMI was established in 1980 and is well-known for providing Flagship Program for PGDM. It also offers PGDM in Healthcare, PGDM in BKFS, PGDM in HR, Executive education as well as Ph.Ds. It is accredited with Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and is approved by AICTE.

TAPMI follows experiential and pedagogical learning methods. These methods were discussed in the FDP which included Live Case, Internships, Live Projects, and Role Playing.

About the FDP

The course started by covering learning theories specifically Kolb’s Learning Cycle & Bloom’s Taxonomy. Since most of the experiential learning pedagogical tools, apart from simulations, are already being used by the faculty at CMS Business School, the learning outcomes were not substantial. However, individually and collectively the CMS Business School faculty did appreciate the importance and the academic impact of simulation tools and games. There is no doubting the fact that these tools and games will give students a feel of the corporate world apart from reinforcing learning outcomes.
