An Interactive Session on Intellectual Property Rights

CMS Business School, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) hosted a faculty interaction session in the presence of Dr. Raj Singh, Vice-Chancellor, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), and Dr. Shweta Singh, Founder & CEO Ennoble IP and Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Foundation (STEP UP 360) on March 4, 2021. The coordinator for the session was Dr. Madhavi R, Associate Professor & Coordinator - Patents and Publications, CMS Business School, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University).

Dr. Shweta is a first-generation serial entrepreneur, mentor, wealth manager, advisor, and guide to many tech-based start-ups and SMEs. She is actively involved in supporting women-based start-ups and business ventures. She has been continuously mentoring women entrepreneurs and supporting them dedicatedly to build a strong and women-empowered ecosystem. During her speech, Dr. Shweta shared her knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) with the faculty members. She highlighted the growing importance of IPR in different sectors and industries. She substantiated her point with examples from commerce and management. She also quoted examples of people from diverse walks of life who have benefitted from IPR and students who could augment their resumes on account of IPR. She discussed every aspect of IPR, such as challenges involved and collaboration benefits. Upon the completion of her speech, she answered various questions posed by the faculty members on research papers and IPR.

The next to interact with the participants was Dr. Raj Singh. He acknowledged the efforts of faculty members and encouraged them to continue hard work in the field of research. He suggested a collaborative and inter-disciplinary work model. He also highlighted the importance of publications and patents for students and faculty members in higher education.

It was an on-campus event attended by 70 faculty members. The interactive event organized by CMS B School met its academic goal and was overall a success.
