The Program’s Objective was to help participants understand the Insurance Industry contribution to the Indian Economy, to ignite the thinking on how different is BFSI compared to other industries and career options and to share the enormous career options in Insurance Industry (specific) alone basis one’s interest and how one can grow within.
Mr Anand B P offered holistic view on the Insurance Industry and its contribution to our GDP till date and the trajectory basis the past performance. The module offered insights on the Business Models such as Banca, Agency, Group, General, Health etc which are critical for the fresher’s to know what’s in it for them and why should they consider any of these business models. He also shared the careers options available. He shared his experience in BFAS industry and why he likes Insurance. He also shared the example as to how Insurance Industry has helped him to retire early in life and now he is helping other to plan their retirements.
Knowledge sharing on the Insurance Industry and its contribution to the Indian Economy. Supplemented the learning of the attendees. He also made student aware on the scope in Insurance industry. Awareness on the different career prospects available in Private Insurance Companies.

The Lead faculty was Prof.Rajiv U Kalebar.
The objective of the program was to help participants understand the Insurance Industry contribution to the Indian Economy, share the enormous career options in Insurance Industry (specific) alone basis one’s interest and how one can grow within and to understand the importance of Relationship Management.
Mr Anand B P brought in Vertical-wise Designations and the career graph along the min. Salary offered and job specifications, which are very critical for the aspirants. Students were curious to understand the career prospects in Insurance industry if not sales. Mr Anand answered this question by sharing the honeycomb list of opportunities one can explore viz: Underwriting, Finance, Marketing, L&D, Claims, Investments, Product etc. It was session were in students had question answered and build confidence in aspirants they would make a great career in the BFSI. He also shared the importance of “Relationship Building” in service industry in present scenario. Thus reiterating importance of not only network building but also “Relationship Building” (RB) for a successful career. Thus stating participating in college events will help in understand their strength in RB. He wished them the very best for their career and thanked CMS Business School for the opportunity.

Mrs Poornima R S Senior Manager, Star Health Insurance with 15 years of experience in Insurance Industry was the speaker The Lead Faculty for the program was Prof.Rajiv U Kalebar.
The objective of the program was to help participants understand the Insurance Industry contribution to the Indian Economy, to ignite the thinking on how different is BFSI compared to other industries and career options and to share the enormous career options in Insurance Industry (specific) alone basis one’s interest and how one can grow within.
Mrs. Poornima gave a brief understanding on the working of the agency and earning difference between life insurance and health insurance. She briefly discussed on fundamentals of financial planning. Knowledge on different health insurance policies were shared. She also shared as to how to choose these policies based requirement of individual, group and age. She also shared the development in the products like inclusion of special products for people with diabetes, cancer, autism, heart attack, etc. Earlier policy holder had to pay the bills and then claim the reimbursement, but today there are cashless facilities, in which a person can pay his hospital bills by just showing his insurance number. Thus convenience of the policy holder has been taken care. Accidents like electrical shocks, accident on road, bathroom accidents etc., one can cover using personal accidental health insurance.
Students were able to understand the benefits of Health Insurance and Personal Accidental Insurance and were able to get their queries answered with examples.
CMS Business School, Jain (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru held its grand finale at Cappadocia, Turkey on 10 November 2019. The finalists from XIME, Bengaluru, NMIMS, Mumbai and Christ University (Deemed-to-be University), Hosur Road, Bengaluru, selected after the preliminary rounds in October, along with the faculty members and students of CMS flew to Turkey on 7th with a stopover at Istanbul before heading to Cappadocia. The grand finale was held in the Banquet Hall at Crystal Kaymakli Hotel & Spa, Cappadocia.
The finals were based on the two rounds – Case study and Presentation, for which the finalists competed with enthusiasm and vigour with XIME, Bengaluru emerging as the winners. Mr. Rishav Jha and Mr. Karan Gandhi were handed over the Cranium Trophy. The panelists for both the rounds were Faculty members from CMS Business School. A magic show put up by CMS B School student Mr. Pranai Reva had the audience spell bound.
The Faculty Coordinators along with the students of the Organizing Committee had made all the arrangements for the event. Overall, the Grand Finale of Cranium 2019 was a grand success. All the members on the trip returned back to Bengaluru on 14 November 2019.
CMS Business School, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) conducted a faculty development program on “Publishing in Scopus Indexed Journals” on 23 November 2019.
The program began with the welcome address delivered by Dr. Dinesh Nilkant, Director, CMS Business School. The event was concluded by Dr. Harold Andrew Patrick, Dean, CMS Business School with his motivating words. Dr. Vasant Bang was the facilitator on 22 November, who spoke on the parameters of quality research and types of review. Dr. Shailesh Kasande was the facilitator on 23, who spoke on the topics of understanding citation and various referencing styles for various research projects and the use of software like Mendeley, Endnote, etc. There were 90 participants in total, where 43 were from Jain (Deemed-to-be University) and 47 from other Universities.
CMS Business School, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) hosted a guest lecture on "How to Become Successful Marketing Manager” for MBA Semester 1 students on 4 November 2019. The speaker of the session was Mr. Vinod Bansal, Managing Director, Braxic Business Solutions. He has over 20 years of work experience, having served at senior level positions in companies such as Zee Television, Tally, SAP, and Oracle. Mr. Vinod Bansal reiterated the need to acquire competencies such as communication skills, selling skills, data interpretation skills to be a successful sales and marketing professional.
CMS Business School, Jain (Deemed-to-be-University) celebrated Ethnic Day – Festivals of India with much pomp and joy on 25 October’19. CMS Business School, Jain (Deemed-to-be-University) celebrated Ethnic Day – Festivals of India with much pomp and joy on 25 October’19. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Dinesh Nilkanth, Director, and CMS Business School in the presence of Dr. Harold Andrew Patrick, Dean, Dr. N.C. Chandrashekhar, Dean Executive Education, Area Chairs and Faculty members. The students showcased various cultures of the country through cultural performances, and converting their classrooms into centers for ethnic experiences through food, games, and photo booths. The students were dressed up in ethnic attires, most of whom represented some other state to which they don’t hail from to appreciate the culture of that state. The ‘Ethnic day’ was not restricted to show appreciation and inclusiveness of the cultures of India alone, but also showcased the ethnicity of Afghani and Nepali cultures. The event depicted in a true sense ‘the cultural melting pot’ that India is known for.
CMS B School, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) conducted by Cranium, an annual International Management fest on 18 & 19 of October 2019. The PR activity to promote the event was handled by the faculties and students of the Student Council. The grand finale will be held in Turkey between 7 to 14 November 2019. A total number of 61 students will take part in the grand finale. Cranium – 2019 witnessed participation from 42 colleges from across the country, 57 teams were registered for participation.
Day 1: 18th October 2019 The inauguration of the event was held on 18th October 2019. Dr. Charles M Savage, President, and Mentor, Knowledge Era Enterprises, Inc, Munich, Germany was the chief guest of the event.
Post the inaugural session, participants from other colleges were briefed to proceed to specified rooms for their respective events. The verticals rounds started by 11:30 AM. These verticals were divided into three categories, viz., 1. Core Verticals, 2. Non-Core Verticals and 3. Cultural rounds.
Core Verticals: Finance, Marketing, HR, Best Manager, Best Entrepreneur and Synergy
Non-Core Verticals: Business Quiz, Photography and CSR
Cultural rounds: Rock Band, Group Dance, Beat Boxing, Street Battle and Cranium Idol
All core and non-core verticals had four rounds of competition and the elimination of participants started only after the second round. On day one, all verticals were successfully completed in two rounds and a night task was given to participants by all the verticals. Scoring was done through secure, centrally controlled and password protected google sheets, four faculties Dr. Rupesh Kumar Sinha, Dr. Dilip, Dr. Navneetha and Dr. Rajiv Kalebar and a student Mr. Srinidhi DN were in charge of scoring, analytics and multiple cross verifications at every stage. The cultural rounds were completed on Day 1.
Day 2: 19th October 2019 The second day had an early start, wherein most of the events were started between 8:00 am and 8:30 am. Most of these rounds were industry-driven with live cases and the events were judged by employees of the involved companies, which was appreciated by participants. Pre-lunch, the Business Quiz final round was conducted on the main stage. Mr. Venkatesh Srinivasan, Co-founder and CEO of Nexus Consulting was the Quizmaster for the event. Post lunch, on the main stage, Best Manager round was concluded, followed by the Synergy final round. After the synergy round, in the valedictory ceremony, the prizes were distributed for all preliminary round winners and runners-up by respective event vertical heads and the dean. The selected participants for the grand finale of Cranium-2019 at Turkey was announced followed by cake cutting by the dean and all Cranium - student committee members, which concluded the preliminary rounds of Cranium- 2019. The selected colleges for the final round were: XIME Bengaluru, NMIMS Mumbai, Christ DU Bangalore.
