Jain (Deemed-to-be University)’s CMS Business School and Acumen Technical Advisory Pvt. Ltd, (trading as Acumen Aviation) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Research and Training in Aircraft Leasing and Financing.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Dinesh Nilkant, Director, CMS Business School, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) and Mr. Alok Anand, Chairman & CEO- Acumen Aviation. This Memorandum is a form of mutual commitment in complimenting each other’s expertise in the field of Education, Aircraft Leasing, Aircraft Financing, and Aviation Management.
Indian Aviation is the fastest-growing sector in the world, with a share of lease Aircraft being close to 85% to 90%. Currently, foreign financiers and lessors are the biggest beneficiaries of India’s growing pie. Hence, it is vital to develop the Aircraft leasing & financing business in India and make the country the global financial capital for international financial services.
The Ministry of Finance, through the Official Gazette notification on 16-10-2020, stated that Aircraft and Component leasing to be included under the IFSC Authority Act, 2019 this will lead to the aircraft leasing business shifting to India. It would create additional high-end job opportunities in India not only through aircraft leasing & financing but ancillary jobs in legal, accounting, etc. There is a huge demand for professionals in this domain but there are no Institutes who can provide the necessary knowledge and skill set to facilitate the growth of the aircraft leasing sector in India.
This MoU has already facilitated various Joint-Certificate programs in the areas of Aircraft Asset Management, Leasing and Financing, Records Management, and Mid-term lease inspection. Further, this partnership will give rise to the Diploma Program in Aircraft Leasing & Financing and various other related certificate programs shortly.
This collaboration and co-operation will promote more effective use of the resources and expertise and provide the students with enhanced opportunities.
This MoU makes Jain (Deemed-to-be University) the first educational institution in the country to support and implement the skill development and atmanirbhar in this niche area of Aircraft Financing.
A guest lecture on "Contemporary HR Jobs and Entry level HR Competencies" was organized on 20 February, 2020. Mr. Naga Siddharth, Chief HR Officer across multiple organizations, a Psychometrician, and Author was the keynote speaker.
The guest lecture aimed to enlighten the students about dynamic shifts in HR roles, functions, and its overall impact in shaping organizations. He also emphasized the importance of transformation from traditional to digital platforms to conduct the HR operations, which can enhance the productivity and longevity of this profession to a great extent. Job opportunities, skills, and competencies, courses, and certificates that can help to perform HR roles effectively were also discussed. It was a highly knowledge gaining and enriching experience for the students, it not only benefited them to understand about the functionalities of this profession and industry expectations, but students also learned about Importance of new- age skills such as data analytics, AI, design thinking for HR Jobs in the future.

CMS Business School, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) organized a Virtual Industrial Visit on September 23, 2020. The keynote speaker for this event was Mr. Gaurav Datta, President, Sales /Marketing & Head of Quality Assurance at Riya Chemy.
It was an immensely fruitful learning experience for the students as Mr. Datta enlightened them about the history of the company, its core values, HR strategies, and practices. He explained the entire process of production and marketing and also the legal documentation procedures and functioning of the factory-like licensee, GST Certificate, MSME, Pollution control certificate, ISI mark, etc.
At CMS Business School, Jain (Deemed-to-be University), “Industrial Visit” is a vital part of the curriculum. This virtual visit aimed to go beyond academics, to provide the student with a practical perspective on the world of work. The interaction with Mr. Datta gave the students a deep insight into the current work practices and the challenges of the industrial environment.

on 26th September 2020. The resource person for this online lecture was Mr. Apoorva Bhandari, the founder of Mars
Apparels, Bengaluru. He has a decade long experience in the field of technology, textile,
designing and has completed his PGDM in Finance from the Mats Institute of Management
and Entrepreneurship, a JGI institution of repute and excellence.
It was a highly informative learning experience for the students as the speaker elaborated on
topics such as -
(i) Corporate Practices of Hedging Forex Exposures
(ii) Role of Technology in decision making and problem-solving
(iii) Skills and Competencies under the Pandemic context
(iv) Significance of continuous learning of new things
