FIG activity

A Guest Lecture as part of the FIG activity Insurance was conducted on 11 Oct 2019 for 3rd Sem CF1, CF2 and MF2 students on Life Insurance Industry and Career Planning.

The chief speaker of the guest lecture was Mr Anand B P, an L&D and OD Consultant; Columnist and TV Panelist with 15 years’ experience in BFAS Companies like MaxLife Insurance and IndianMoney.com this was by the Lead faculty was Prof.Rajiv U Kalebar

The Program’s Objective was to help participants understand the Insurance Industry contribution to the Indian Economy, to ignite the thinking on how different is BFSI compared to other industries and career options and to share the enormous career options in Insurance Industry (specific) alone basis one’s interest and how one can grow within.

Mr Anand B P offered holistic view on the Insurance Industry and its contribution to our GDP till date and the trajectory basis the past performance. The module offered insights on the Business Models such as Banca, Agency, Group, General, Health etc which are critical for the fresher’s to know what’s in it for them and why should they consider any of these business models. He also shared the careers options available. He shared his experience in BFAS industry and why he likes Insurance. He also shared the example as to how Insurance Industry has helped him to retire early in life and now he is helping other to plan their retirements.

Knowledge sharing on the Insurance Industry and its contribution to the Indian Economy. Supplemented the learning of the attendees.  He also made student aware on the scope in Insurance industry.  Awareness on the different career prospects available in Private Insurance Companies.

2. A Guest Lecture as part of FIG activity on Insurance was conducted on 12 Oct 2019 for 3rd Semester BFAS, MF1 and CHRM students on Life Insurance Industry and Relationship Management.  Mr Anand B P, an L&D and OD Consultant; Columnist and TV Panelist with 15 years’ Experience in BFAS Companies like MaxLife Insurance and IndianMoney.com was the speaker. The Lead faculty was Prof.Rajiv U Kalebar.

The objective of the program was to help participants understand the Insurance Industry contribution to the Indian Economy, share the enormous career options in Insurance Industry (specific) alone basis one’s interest and how one can grow within and to understand the importance of Relationship Management.

Mr Anand B P brought in Vertical-wise Designations and the career graph along the min. Salary offered and job specifications, which are very critical for the aspirants. Students were curious to understand the career prospects in Insurance industry if not sales. Mr Anand answered this question by sharing the honeycomb list of opportunities one can explore viz: Underwriting, Finance, Marketing, L&D, Claims, Investments, Product etc. It was session were in students had question answered and build confidence in aspirants they would make a great career in the BFSI. He also shared the importance of “Relationship Building” in service industry in present scenario. Thus reiterating importance of not only network building but also “Relationship Building” (RB) for a successful career. Thus stating participating in college events will help in understand their strength in RB. He wished them the very best for their career and thanked CMS Business School for the opportunity.

A Guest Lecture as part of the FIG activity on Insurance was conducted on 15th Oct 2019 for 3rd Sem CF1, CF2, CHRM students on Health and Personal Accidental Insurance.  Mrs Poornima R S Senior Manager, Star Health Insurance with 15 years of experience in Insurance Industry was the speaker The Lead Faculty for the program was Prof.Rajiv U Kalebar.

The objective of the program was to help participants understand the Insurance Industry contribution to the Indian Economy, to ignite the thinking on how different is BFSI compared to other industries and career options and to share the enormous career options in Insurance Industry (specific) alone basis one’s interest and how one can grow within.

Mrs. Poornima gave a brief understanding on the working of the agency and earning difference between life insurance and health insurance. She briefly discussed on fundamentals of financial planning. Knowledge on different health insurance policies were shared. She also shared as to how to choose these policies based requirement of individual, group and age. She also shared the development in the products like inclusion of special products for people with diabetes, cancer, autism, heart attack, etc. Earlier policy holder had to pay the bills and then claim the reimbursement, but today there are cashless facilities, in which a person can pay his hospital bills by just showing his insurance number. Thus convenience of the policy holder has been taken care. Accidents like electrical shocks, accident on road, bathroom accidents etc., one can cover using personal accidental health insurance.

Students were able to understand the benefits of Health Insurance and Personal Accidental Insurance and were able to get their queries answered with examples.
