16 Mar 2021

VISHWAS JAIN (Deemed-to-be- University) the Student Counseling & Guidance Centre celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2021 at CMS-B school.

It was celebrated to cherish womanhood and pay tribute to the indomitable spirit of women across the globe, to mark their social, economic, cultural, and political achievements that give a reason to pause, re-evaluate and remember the inspiring stories of women.

The host for the day was Mr. Anirudh (CM Student, CMS-B School, JAIN (Deemed-to- be-University).  He began the event by highlighting this year’s theme of women’s day, i.e., “Choose to Challenge” and brought light to the challenges faced by women in 2021 and called out gender bias and inequality to be diminished by embracing women's achievements to create an inclusive world.

Following the introductory welcome and speech by the host, Chaya Bagrecha shared her inspiring journey and life lessons as a woman with the audience and Mr. Sourav Srivastav gave a beautiful ode to women and sang a song about “Nari Shakti” urging women to follow their passion and fight for their rights.

The host then requested Dr. Uma Warrier to felicitate the heroes of the event- The SODEXO “Women Cleaning Staff” to honor their tireless work as a house-keeper who despite their regular responsibilities as a woman, strive hard every day to fight the germs and keep the CMS-B school campus clean for health & wellbeing of individuals.

The celebrations continued by Mr. Kushal (MHR student, CMS-B school, JAIN (Deemed-to-be- University) who dedicated a short film to women. He showed how women are not allowed to follow their dreams and passion but how little support and encouragement can help them achieve their fullest potential to succeed in life. The event then followed with some game and all the women were felicitated by a token of gratitude and love by Dr. Uma Warrier and the event ended with a vote of thanks to rejoicing the spirit of womanhood.

The coordinators for the event were, Dr. Uma Warrier, Professor & Area Chair, Chief Counsellor, JAIN (Deemed-to-be -University), and Ms. Heena Jain, Campus counselor, CMS-B school, JAIN (Deemed-to-be-university).
