CMS Business School, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) hosted the Students and Faculty from ISCTE Business School – University Institute of Lisbon, Portugal from 29 January 2018 to 2 February 2018. They had faculty sessions / student interactions / visit to Infosys Mysore etc.
The event began with a welcome program organized by CMS business school. The formal classroom session began which was taken by Dr. B. Raghavendra Rao, HOD, Finance. He gave his insights on the economy of India and discussed about the capital markets. The session was informative and the students thoroughly enjoyed it. A presentation on India was shown to the students followed by a cultural event and few games.
The students visited the Learning Resource Center. Mr. Prithviraj, Librarian, explained how the resource center is supporting management students to learn and generate new business ideas. In the incubation center, students from CMS business school informed them how the college gives importance and encouragement to entrepreneurship. This was followed by the first session of the day which was taken by Prof. Krishna Koppa, HOD, Marketing. He shared his views on the changing trends in the consumer behavior. He gave an extensive insight on the topic that covered various other aspects associated to it. The second half of the day began by a formal classroom session by Prof. Ujjal Mukherjee, Associate Professor, Human Resource. He not only shared his insights on the subject matter but to keep the session interactive, he gave case studies to the students and asked them to come up with solutions. This made the session interesting as students were able to participate and contribute to the learning process.
It was important for the students to know how these information are applied in real life corporate scenario. Therefore, college organized a visit to the Training and Development campus of Infosys, Mysore. The students got an opportunity to meet the trainers who shared their ideas about the company. Second half was spent in sightseeing where the students got to see the ancient city Mysore, the magnificent palace, the market area as well as the famous Chamundi Hills.
The session on the Art and Culture of India was taken by the renowned historian, Ms. Choodamani Nandagopal. She shared her knowledge about the rich cultural heritage of our country. Her presentation consisted of history of India, the rich culture, art and sculptures that our nation takes pride in. Later, students had a great time by visiting places like the Bangalore palace, Lalbagh Botanical Garden, and the famous shopping streets, MG Road and Commercial Street.
They had an assessment test session of what they learnt during their stay in CMS Business School. After the session, they were given a proper send off.
The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people and the learning we get from one another. The exchange program indeed stood by this statement.
