Service Learning is an educational methodology that integrates meaningful community engagement with academic instruction, fostering experiential learning, empathy, and social responsibility. It goes beyond traditional classroom teaching by connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world application, encouraging students to reflect critically on societal issues while developing essential life skills. This approach nurtures civic awareness, collaborative problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of the social impact of education.
In alignment with this philosophy, the Service Learning initiative commenced with the launch of the E.L.I.T.E (Empowering Leaders and Innovators for Tomorrow's Economy) Program by Super Saarthi across Narayana Schools, marking a significant step toward holistic education. Despite on-ground challenges, classrooms transformed into vibrant spaces of learning, curiosity, and active participation, made possible through the dedicated efforts of 47 Saarthis (educators). Their commitment enhanced student engagement and laid a strong foundation for skills like Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship to foster social impact and community-driven learning. This collaborative effort exemplifies how experiential education, empathy, and reflective practice can converge to create meaningful, long-term change.
