In honor of the 132nd Birth Anniversary of the legendary Padmashree Dr. S. R. Ranganathan on 12.08.2024, the LRC observed National Librarians Day with an 'Expert Talk on Emerging Trends in Research & Innovation: Creative Thinking, Patents, Funding Agencies on 14th August 2024.

Dr. S. Srikanta Swamy, Director, Centre for Researcher Training and Administration, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) was the Chief Guest, Dr. Abhishek Mahesh Appaji, Associate Professor, BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru was the key resource person of the expert talk on “Emerging Trends in Research & Innovation: Creative thinking, Patent, Funding agencies” and Dr. L Sudershan Reddy, Professor, JU-CMS Business School, was the Chairperson.

Importance of Libraries in Research: The session emphasized the vital role that libraries and librarians play in assisting with research endeavors The conversation brought to light how libraries are dynamic centers for knowledge generation and dissemination that are essential to scholars' success, serving as more than just places to store books.

3. Practical Insights into Project Funding: The resource person imparted useful information about how to apply for financing and file research projects. In order to maximize the chances of success, he underlined the significance of comprehending the demands of various funding institutions and modifying bids accordingly.

 4. Library Engagement: The session concluded with a call to action for faculty members to encourage students to make better use of library resources.
