General Rules

  1. All the students/scholars and outsiders entering the LRC shall deposit their bags and other belongings at the entrance and sign in the Register at the checkpoint. Only notebooks and the LRC books to be returned will be allowed inside.
  2. Do not to leave any valuables at the Check Point. LRC is not responsible for any loss of personal belongings. All files, books and notebooks must be presented to the security guard at the checkpoint for inspection while leaving the LRC.
  3. Identity card is compulsory for getting access to the LRC.
  4. All the students/scholars are required to bring their recent photographs (Passport Size) along with the fee receipt while applying for LRC membership.
  5. All the students are advised to bring their own identity card while using the LRC.
  6. No visitor or guest is permitted to use the LRC without the prior permission of the Librarian. He/She is required to produce a proper introduction letter from the concerned Institution/Organization to which he/she is attached.
  7. Books removed from the shelves by students, if not required for reference, should be kept on the book trolley or on table nearest to them. Please do not try to shelve them yourself. Please remember that a book misplaced is a book lost.
  8. Reference books, journals and CDs are not for lending, it can be used inside the LRC only.
  9. The old newspaper(s) should be folded properly after reading and kept back in the designated place.
  10. Readers should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage LRC resources in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he will be charged the full replacement cost of the resource. Books borrowed should be protected from RAIN, DUST, INSECT, etc.
  11. All the students who want to return the books issued on their names are advised to wait until the books are shown as cancelled against their names.
  12. There will be a fine of Rs.5.00 per general shelf book.
  13. For the loss of Identity cards, students should meet the manager for issue of duplicate card.
  14. Students are advised not to issue books to others on their names.
  15. The photocopy charge per exposure is Rs.2. Payment can be made by cash in the LRC.
  16. Conversation and discussion disturbs LRC ambience. Therefore, all are requested to maintain a dignified silence. If discussion is necessary, the common room should be utilized for the same.
  17. Smoking, beverages and eatables are not allowed inside the LRC.
  18. All users are requested to keep their mobiles switched off or in silent mode in the LRC.
  19. No photograph of the LRC shall be taken without the prior permission of the Librarian.
  20. LRC reserves the right to call back any issued book/item at any time.
  21. Users if they have any suggestions can give in the suggestion box provided in the library
