Online Public Access catalogue (OPAC) is a tool for finding information on available resources. It can be accessed on intranet and internet to search all the bibliographic records available through a web-based search interface. It provides information on the book whether is issued or on shelf, number of copies available, due date for the borrowed books, new arrivals etc.
LRC conducts user education/orientation programs not only in the beginning of every academic year but also as when the user approaches.
Identified reference books, journals, thesis, bound volumes of journals, project reports and dissertations shall be referred only inside the LRC premises. However, overnight access to the above mentioned reference items shall be provided to the faculty members.
Providing Document / Database/Research articles, sharing lists of newly arrived resources through the e-mails
Subscribed e-books and e-journals, magazines, cases, teaching notes and a database supporting teaching, learning and research needs can be accessed directly from the links shared or through the website.
The LRC assists the users to access the online learning platforms like NPTEL, SWAYAM, MOOC, Coursera and LinkedIn.
Offers collaborative learning with the faculty members to promote the LRC resources related to their courses while promoting the existing resources.
To fulfill the ever-growing information needs of our students and faculty, the LRC has subscribed Institutional membership with Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) and DELNET for the benefit of users.
LRC provides ILL services from the institutional membership and within JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) network of based on the request and availability of requested items.
In line with our commitment to environmental sustainability and the promotion of green initiatives, LRC has revised its previous reprography policy to eco-friendly alternatives like scan or pdf or capturing images of the articles/data/book chapters under fair use provision.
The LRC has set up an archive of some of the articles, digital contents, open access enabled digital book chapters, e-books, previous years’ question papers, newspaper articles etc which can be accessed by students and faculty members on demand.
JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) is now a registered member of National Digital Library (NDL), an initiative of MHRD, Government of India. NDL provides support for all academic levels, including researchers and lifelong learners, all disciplines. It is being developed to help students to prepare for their entrance and competitive examination and to facilitate researchers to perform interlinked exploration from multiple sources.
The LRC provides a variety of services and resources to aid academics and authors in publishing and presenting their work such as remote access to online resources, reference management tools, literature review, eexploring alternate publishing models including Open Access journals etc.
JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) has subscribed ‘Turnitin’ plagiarism checking tool. Faculty members and research assistants can send their research papers, cases, book chapters for similarity report from the link on the college website.
