Circulation Services are those services involved with borrowing materials by the respective unit’s Learning Resource Centres; placing holds on items in circulation; and borrowing or lending items through inter campus or Inter Library Loan (ILL). Circulation Desk is the first contact point for faculty and patrons of LRC. Some of the main Activities of the Section are:
Check in and Check out
Sending Reminders to patrons of overdue items
Correspondence and issue of No Due Certificate (NDc)
Assisting the patrons for accessing OPAC and Reference
The renewal must be made on or before the due date
Books loan can be renewed via email, in- person if they have not been recalled
Books can be renewed for Three times for the duration Seven Days (subject to the demand and availability)
The LRC users can reserve a book only if its status is borrowed
The reserved books will be issued on a priority basis for two weeks, in case more than one reservation exists
The member who has reserved the book will be informed of the arrival of the book and if he/she fails to collect it within 3 days, he /she will forfeit his / her claim on the book. But he/she may reserve the same book again.
No Due Certificate
No Dues Certificate concerning library membership will be issued after all the dues cleared by the students/staff/faculty members
Web OPAC (Online Public Access catalogue) is a search engine for finding any catalog information of the LRC. It can be accessed on intranet and internet to search all the bibliographic records available in the LRC database through a web-based search interface.
The OPAC can be searched by author, title, subject, keywords, call number, and publisher. It provides information on whether the book is issued or on shelf, number of copies available in the LRC, due date for the borrowed books etc. It also provides information about new arrivals of books/ journals in the learning resource centre.
The reference Service is an essential service offered by the LRC. It helps users to make full use of the resources available in the library. The main functions of the reference service are:
Providing guidance in the use of library resources and services
Assisting in accessing e-journals, e-books, databases, free open access journals etc.
Answering the reference questions directly asked by the users
Arranging library-tour for new users
Access to Online Resources
Jain (Deemed-to-be University) has subscribed to more than e-books and e-journals with SCOPUS indexed journals, e-cases, e-teaching notes and a database supporting teaching, learning and research needs. These resources can access on the Internet, from anywhere within the campus.
To fulfil the ever-growing information needs of our students and faculty, the LRC has taken Institutional membership of following libraries/Institutions. Users can refer these libraries or borrow the books on interlibrary loan basis:

Inter Library Loan
LRC establish an interlibrary co-operation with local/regional government bodies like DELNET for resource sharing under Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The student’s / faculty members can make use of the information resources available in the libraries.

The various methods used to keep patron’s current with academic and professional literature are:
List of latest additions- Sending out the lists of newly acquired books through e-mail
Journal TOCs- Informing patrons through e-mail about the periodicals received on a weekly basis
Conference alerts- Informing faculty members through email and notice board
News clipping service- The library provides newspaper or news clipping service to its users
User education/ training programs
LRC conducts user education/orientation programs in the beginning of every academic year.
Power point presentation is used as an instrument to conduct this program. This program covers a brief introduction, collections and resources, services and facilities available, useful links to access online resources and the various activities conducted by the LRC. This awareness programs shall be conducted as and when requested by the users/ institution.
Photocopying / Printing Services
Photocopy service is available from 10.30 am to 5 pm on all working days.
The charges are applicable for photocopy of articles, book chapters, previous years’ examination question papers etc.
