Bengaluru: JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) hosted an engaging Alumni Connect Session on 6 November 2025 at Seminar Hall 6, FMS–CMS, Bengaluru. The event featured distinguished alumna Ms Sushma HR, Senior Cybersecurity Consultant, who addressed 107 postgraduate management students as part of a focused pre-placement interaction facilitated by faculty coordinators Dr Sarangapani and Dr Manjunath S.
The session opened with introductory remarks by student Harshita and Prof. Sarangapani, setting the stage for a discussion centred on bridging the gap between academic learning and contemporary corporate expectations. Ms Sushma, reflecting on her journey as a former student and Placement Brand Ambassador of the institution, emphasised the transformative impact of campus involvement on her professional trajectory. She encouraged students to cultivate a blend of technical competence and interpersonal maturity—qualities she described as essential in a competitive corporate landscape.
Over the course of the 1.5-hour session, students engaged in active dialogue with the speaker on topics such as emerging placement trends, employer priorities, interview preparedness, and the evolving skill sets demanded across industries. Ms Sushma highlighted the value of soft skills, continuous learning, and a proactive mindset, underscoring the need for students to align personal goals with organisational values as they prepare to enter the workforce. Dr Syed Kazim and Dr Sarang G. Pani were present throughout, supporting and facilitating the student–alumni interaction. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms Shruthi, Teaching Assistant.
Reflecting on the significance of such initiatives, Ms Sushma stated: “Campus engagement shapes more than resumes; it shapes confidence, clarity, and character. Students who immerse themselves fully—academically and beyond—enter the corporate world with a far stronger sense of purpose and preparedness.”
The session proved highly beneficial for the participating MBA students, offering actionable insights into industry expectations and personal development. This Alumni Connect initiative reaffirms the university’s commitment to fostering preparedness, confidence, and professional readiness among its learners. Future engagements of this nature are planned to continue strengthening bonds between alumni and the current student community.
