Bengaluru: The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) hosted the FIN WIN activity on 19 November 2025 at Lecture Halls 412 and 413, Bengaluru. Organised under the FiG initiative, the session brought together students from the MBA 2025–27 and 2024–26 cohorts for an intensive, practice-oriented exploration of financial analysis and stock valuation.
The three-hour activity was coordinated by Dr V. Y. John, Dr Nikhil M. N., Dr Sireesha Nanduri, Dr Anusha S. Sangondimath, and Dr Srinivasan Arun Kumar. Designed to simulate real-world investment decision-making, FIN WIN challenged participants to assess the intrinsic value of selected companies using publicly available financial data. Students examined balance sheets, income statements, and market indicators before presenting their investment rationale based on long-term value assessment.
The activity encouraged independent judgment, analytical precision, and practical application of classroom knowledge. Participants engaged in rigorous evaluation of financial information and determined whether a stock merited a long-term investment, sharpening both technical skills and strategic thinking.
Dr V. Y. John, Associate Professor and Coordinator of the initiative, stated: “FIN WIN is structured to help students move beyond theoretical understanding and experience the demands of real-time financial decision-making. Activities like these strengthen their confidence and prepare them for the complexities of today’s financial landscape.”
The event concluded with participants demonstrating significant clarity in valuation techniques and improved proficiency in interpreting financial statements. Future editions of FIN WIN under the FiG initiative aim to expand participation and incorporate more advanced analytical components to further enhance student competency.
