Bengaluru, 2 June 2025: The Department of Management Studies, Faculty of Management and Commerce, Jain (Deemed-to-be University), organised an engaging and intellectually stimulating event titled “Secrets in the Shadow” on 2 June 2025 at Seminar Hall 5, FMS–CMS, BS Campus. The session, coordinated by Mr. Nepoleon M. P. and Mr. Thilak Reddy, faculty members of the Department of Management Studies, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 84 students.
The activity was conducted under the aegis of the DS Club and aimed to promote experiential learning through simulation-based exercises in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) and Systems and Operations Management (SOM). Designed as a team-based strategy event, it allowed participants to apply theoretical concepts to real-world operational challenges.
Each team comprised six members, assuming roles such as Leader, Resource Allocator, Manufacturer, Distributor, Spy, and Defensive Spy, working collaboratively to solve ten riddles centred on supply chain and operational processes while constructing two original riddles depicting the journey from production to supply. The unique inclusion of a ‘Spy’ element fostered observational and analytical skills, as participants gathered intelligence and protected their data through counter-strategies. The activity’s plus–minus scoring system encouraged accuracy, teamwork, and efficiency, culminating in an enriching and competitive learning experience.
Speaking about the event, Mr. Nepoleon M. P., Faculty Coordinator, remarked,“The DS Club is committed to bridging the gap between theory and practice. ‘Secrets in the Shadow’ not only enhanced students’ understanding of supply chain and operations management but also cultivated essential managerial skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and strategic planning.”
The event successfully combined creativity, learning, and competition, providing participants with hands-on exposure to complex industrial concepts in an engaging format. It reaffirmed the department’s dedication to innovative pedagogical approaches that prepare students for the dynamic landscape of modern business and management.
