Alumni Connect Session Strengthens Pre-Placement Readiness at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University)

20 Nov 2025

Bengaluru: The School of Management, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), hosted an engaging Alumni Connect Session on 6 November 2025 at Seminar Hall 6, FMS-CMS, Bengaluru. The event featured Ms Sushma HR, Senior Cybersecurity Consultant and distinguished alumna, who addressed postgraduate management students as part of a focused pre-placement interaction. The session was coordinated by Dr Sarangapani and Dr Manjunath S, with 107 students in attendance.

The session began with introductions by student Harshita and Professor Sarangapani, setting the tone for an afternoon dedicated to bridging academic learning with corporate expectations. Drawing from her professional journey, Ms Sushma highlighted how her involvement in campus activities, leadership roles, and her tenure as Placement Brand Ambassador played a pivotal role in shaping her career trajectory. She emphasised the growing need for students to cultivate a balance of technical competence and interpersonal effectiveness to meet the evolving demands of the industry.

Throughout the 1.5-hour programme, students engaged in interactive discussions on emerging placement trends, employer expectations, interview preparation strategies, and the importance of continuous learning. Ms Sushma underscored the value of soft-skill development, adaptability, and professional etiquette, noting that organisations increasingly look for candidates who demonstrate initiative and clarity of purpose. Faculty members Dr Syed Kazim and Dr Sarang G. Pani were present during the session, providing academic context and supporting the dialogue.

Reflecting on the importance of readiness and self-driven growth, Ms Sushma stated, “Success in the corporate world is not defined by technical knowledge alone. It is shaped by curiosity, confidence, and the willingness to step forward and participate. Your journey begins long before the interview—it starts with how you choose to grow every single day.”

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms Shruthi (Teaching Assistant), acknowledging the contributions of the speaker and the coordinators. The session’s insights are expected to support students’ ongoing placement preparation, with more industry-aligned engagements planned for the forthcoming semester.
