CMS Business School Hosts Seminar on Integrating Indian Knowledge Systems into Management Education

Bengaluru, 28 November 2025: CMS Business School, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), organised a one-day seminar and panel discussion on “Integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into the Management Curriculum” on 28 November 2025 at Seminar Hall 3, FMS–CMS, Bangalore. The academic event brought together eminent scholars and faculty members to deliberate on embedding indigenous knowledge traditions within contemporary management education.

The seminar aimed to explore meaningful and structured approaches to integrating Indian Knowledge Systems into management programmes, aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ramakrishna Pajethia, Professor, who engaged participants for nearly ninety minutes with an in-depth discussion on the relevance of IKS in modern managerial contexts. Drawing on Indian philosophy, ethics, governance, and sustainability, the session highlighted practical ways to incorporate these perspectives into leadership, organisational behaviour, strategic management, and decision-making.

Following the keynote session, an interactive panel discussion was held, moderated by Dr. Krishna Koppa, Deputy Director, CMS Business School. The panel comprised Dr. Ramakrishna Pajethia, Dr. Shankar, and Dr. Arati Rao, who shared insights on curriculum design, pedagogical frameworks, and assessment strategies for effectively embedding IKS within management curricula. The discussion also underscored the responsibility of higher education institutions to preserve, contextualise, and apply indigenous knowledge systems to contemporary academic and societal needs.

The seminar concluded with a reaffirmation of CMS Business School’s commitment to academic innovation and curricular enrichment through the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems. The institution plans to initiate further academic discussions and curriculum development activities in this direction as part of its long-term educational vision.
