Bengaluru, 19 June 2025 – The Faculty of Management Studies – CMS Business School at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) hosted an innovative team-based activity titled “Secrets in the Shadow” under the DS Club initiative. The session, coordinated by Mr. Nepoleon M. P. and Mr. Thilak Reddy, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 84 students at Seminar Hall 5, 5th floor, FMS-CMS, Bengaluru.
The activity was designed to provide experiential learning in the domains of Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) and Systems and Operations Management (SOM) through an interactive and strategic simulation. Participants, grouped in teams of six, assumed specific roles—leader, Resource Allocator, Manufacturer, Distributor, Spy, and Additional Member—to navigate a series of riddles and challenges inspired by real-world operational dynamics.
Through the problem-solving framework, participants were tasked with decoding ten riddles related to supply chain and operations while creating two of their own to represent the journey from production to delivery. The inclusion of a “Spy” role added an intriguing layer of strategic observation and competitive intelligence, fostering a spirit of analytical thinking and teamwork. Scoring was based on a balanced plus-minus system that rewarded creativity, accuracy, and collaboration.
Speaking about the event, Mr. Nepoleon M. P., Faculty Coordinator, remarked, “‘Secrets in the Shadow’ offered students a creative yet structured way to experience how coordination, strategy, and communication play vital roles in operations and supply chain systems. It was heartening to see participants approach challenges with enthusiasm, innovation, and collaborative energy.”
The event successfully blended academic learning with gamified engagement, encouraging students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical, scenario-based contexts. Beyond competition, the activity nurtured essential management competencies such as decision-making, adaptability, and strategic foresight.
The DS Club continues to promote experiential learning opportunities that bridge classroom concepts with real-world application, preparing students for dynamic careers in management and operations.
