Bengaluru, 7 November 2025: CMS Business School, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), hosted ECONSPACE-III, a full-day student research seminar designed for the MBA Batch of 2025–27, Semester 1, under the Business Economics course. The event brought together eminent speakers, faculty, and 208 student participants to explore the rapidly evolving intersections of economics, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and digital transformation

The seminar centred on the theme “Navigating Economic Transformation – AI, Sustainability and Resilience in a Digital Era”, emphasising the need for emerging business leaders to understand how technological disruption, sustainable development, and macroeconomic uncertainty shape economic decision-making today. Students prepared and presented research papers aligned with five contemporary sub-themes, including AI-driven strategic intelligence, labour market transformation, digital platforms, economic resilience, and sustainable growth priorities

The programme commenced with registration, a formal inauguration, invocation, and ceremonial lamp lighting. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Uma C. Swadimath, followed by an inaugural address by Dr. Krishna Koppa, Deputy Director. The keynote session featured distinguished speakers: Dr. Padmini Ram (Director, Urban Ethnographer, Public Policy), Mr. Baskar Susai (GM – IT Delivery, IBM BPOD), and Dr. Radhika Lobo (Professor of Economics and Programme Chair, Vidyashilp University). Their discussions offered deep insights into sustainable development priorities, workforce transitions, digital innovation, and adaptive economic strategies. The session was moderated by Dr. Srinivasan Pazhamalai

Parallel technical sessions allowed students to present their research while being evaluated on thematic alignment and academic rigour. The seminar concluded with a valedictory ceremony and prize distribution recognising outstanding papers across each theme.

Speaking about the event, Dr. Salma Begum, Faculty Coordinator, remarked: “ECONSPACE-III reflects our commitment to nurturing research-driven thinking among management students. The seminar not only encouraged scholarly inquiry but also inspired students to examine how AI-enabled intelligence, sustainability, and digital markets influence the future of business practice.”

The successful conclusion of ECONSPACE-III reinforced the institution’s emphasis on critical inquiry, interdisciplinary learning, and student-led research. Future editions of the seminar are expected to expand collaborative opportunities with industry leaders and academic researchers, further strengthening the research culture at CMS Business School.
