Bengaluru, 13 November 2025: The Faculty of Management Studies–Centre for Management Studies (FMS–CMS), Bengaluru, successfully organised an expert lecture on “Managing Oneself in a Changing Context” on 13 November 2025 at Seminar Hall 3, 1st Floor, FMS–CMS. The three-hour academic session witnessed active participation from over 100 students and faculty members, underscoring the university’s commitment to holistic management education.

The event was coordinated by Dr. M. Nalini, Faculty Coordinator. It featured Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan, Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management and Chairperson – Digital Learning at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), as the distinguished guest speaker. Prof. Srinivasan is widely recognised for her scholarly contributions to leadership development, organisational behaviour, and executive education.

The lecture focused on the critical capability of self-management in an era characterised by rapid technological, organisational, and societal change. Prof. Srinivasan emphasised the importance of self-awareness, adaptability, and continuous learning as foundational competencies for professionals navigating uncertainty. Through real-world examples and reflective frameworks, she highlighted how individuals can align their personal strengths with evolving professional demands while sustaining long-term performance and well-being.

The session was highly interactive, encouraging students to reflect on their own career aspirations, behavioural patterns, and leadership readiness. Participants gained valuable insights into resilience, emotional regulation, and purpose-driven decision-making—skills increasingly essential in dynamic organisational contexts.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. M. Nalini remarked, “The session offered our students a rare opportunity to engage with a thought leader from IIM Bangalore. Prof. Srinivasan’s perspectives on self-management and adaptability are deeply relevant for future managers who must lead themselves before they can lead others.”

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and reaffirmed the institution’s focus on bridging academic learning with contemporary managerial realities. Such expert interactions are integral to the university’s ongoing efforts to enrich student learning through industry-academia engagement. Further academic talks and leadership development programmes are planned as part of the forthcoming campus initiatives.
